What was happening in Congress this week? 

SOULS (Seeking Official Uncounted Lives Statistics) Act would include abortions in CDC’s official US death count.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) maintains statistics about U.S. births and deaths. In 2021, it provisionally recorded 3.65 million births and 3.45 million deaths.  The average annual number of U.S. abortions from 2015–19 at around 890,000 per year.

The SOULS (Seeking Official Uncounted Lives Statistics) Act would include abortions in the CDC’s official annual U.S. death count. The bill has not yet attracted any cosponsors. It awaits a potential vote in the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

HR 7703 and S 4173 – CALM Modernization Act would ban ads on streaming video services from being louder than the actual programming, it would update the original 2010 law to include video streaming.  It would update that original 2010 law to include video streaming services

The House version has attracted two cosponsors, both Democrats.

The Senate version has attracted one Democratic

HR 2992  TBI and PTSD Law Enforcement Training Act

The Attorney General to develop crisis intervention training tools for use by first responders related to interacting with persons who have a traumatic brain injury, another form of acquired brain injury, or post-traumatic stress disorder.

HR 6943 Public Safety Officer Support Act of 2022

To amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to authorize public safety officer death benefits to officers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder or acute stress disorder.

HR 350 – Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2022

This bill establishes new requirements to expand the availability of information on domestic terrorism, as well as the relationship between domestic terrorism and hate crimes.

It creates an interagency task force to analyze and combat white supremacist and neo-Nazi infiltration of the uniformed services and federal law enforcement agencies.

(5  )the term “domestic terrorism” means activities that—

(A)  involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State;

(B)  appear to be intended—

(i)  to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;

(ii)  to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or

(iii)  to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping;

H Resolution 1118:  Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the United States recognized the mounting personal and financial burden of diet-related disease in the United States and calls on medical schools, graduate medical education programs, and other health professional training programs to provide meaningful physician and health professional education on nutrition and diet.

That it is the sense of the House of Representatives that the United States should—

  1. urge that medical schools, residency and fellowship programs, and other health professional training programs to incorporate meaningful nutrition education that demonstrates the connection between nutrition and disease, and develops the skills necessary to initiate meaningful nutrition interventions

HR 7790:  Infant formula Supplemental Appropriation Act, 2022

Making emergency supplemental appropriations to address the shortage of infant formula in the United States for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2022, and for other purposes.

We wouldn’t have to enact the Act to make more baby formula for American babies if the administration would stop sending it to the southern border for the illegals ONLY…

H Resolution 1125:  Condemning Rising Antisemitism

This resolution calls on elected officials, faith leaders, and civil society leaders to condemn anti-Semitism in all forms. It also calls for renewed efforts to combat anti-Semitism domestically, globally, and online.

HR 7791:  To amend the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 to establish waiver authority to address certain emergencies, disasters, and supply chain disruptions and for other purposes.

This Act may be cited as the Access to Baby Formula Act of 2022.

HR 7691:  Additional Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2022

Making emergency supplemental appropriations for assistance for the situation in Ukraine for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2022, and for other purposes.

The bill provides appropriations to several federal departments and agencies, including:

the Department of Justice, the Department of Defense, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of State, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Department of Agriculture, and the Department of the Treasury. Among other things, the bill provides appropriations for defense equipment, migration and refugee assistance, regulatory and technical support regarding nuclear power issues, emergency food assistance, economic assistance, and seizures of property related to the invasion.

What about the invasion of our own border!!
